2026 MCC Vocal Music Tuition Scholarships
A qualified applicant must meet the following criteria:
Be currently enrolled in Mesa Community College (MCC) as a Vocal Performance, Music Theater, or Choral Education student.
The applicant must meet these additional criteria:
- Be available to audition at MCC on Thursday, April 2, 2026. Sign up for your audition time with Dr. Peterson no later than noon on Monday, March 30, 2026.
- Prepare a vocal solo of not less than two minutes duration. Appropriate repertoire
includes art song, oratorios or opera arias, or classic musical theater songs. - Provide three printed copies of the prepared solo for the judges to the audition.
Copies will not be returned. - You are invited to bring your own accompanist. A piano is on site.
Recorded accompaniment is also acceptable. Bring your own equipment;
note that a phone by itself is NOT a good choice. - Be available to perform your winning solo at the Sonoran Desert Chorale
concerts on Saturday, April 25, 2026, and Sunday, April 26, 2026.
The winner will use the scholarship toward tuition for the Fall 2026 Semester at MCC. If the winner is going on to another college, the scholarship will be applied to the new college account. All transactions are handled directly from the Chorale to the school.
APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS
- Complete the PDF-fillable 2026 Vocal Music Tuition Scholarship application form and save it to your computer. Include your name in the file name—e.g., MCCScholarship_JaneDoe.pdf
- Email the application to info@sonorandesertchorale.org
no later than Wednesday, March 25, 2026, 11:59 PM MST. - Be certain to sign up for your audition time with Dr. Peterson no later than noon on Monday, March 30, 2026.
