Recap our tour and see lots of photos on our blog at http://sdcfrance2014.wordpress.com/  !

The Sonoran Desert Chorale participated in the commemoration events in Normandy under the auspices of Normandie Mémoire Association and the Comité du Débarquement/D-Day Commemoration Committee.  On June 5th, The Chorale participated in the memorial service for the 101st and 82nd Airborne Divisions at Sainte-Mère-Eglise village church (video link below). A little later in the day we performed the Star Spangled Banner for the inauguration of the Extension of the newest wing of the Airborne Musuem, where Michael Reagan provided the keynote speech. On June 6th, the Chorale presented the full concert, "Requiem: For the Fallen", at the Cathédrale Notre-Dame in Bayeux. French composer Gabriel Faure's Requiem was the centerpiece of the concert. The concert also included several selections envisioning Peace, through the works of Clausen, Stroope, Duruflé, Vaughn Williams, and more. On June 6, we did an evening concert at Bayeux Cathedral. On June 8, we sang in Rouen Cathedral. On June 10, in Chartres. We finished our tour with a full concert in Strasbourg Cathedral.
